The HT30R is basically an upgrade of the TK30 LEP white laser flashlight and features a few things the TK30 didnt. First, you can charge the HT30R without removing the battery. You had to pull out the battery from the TK30 to charge it, not a huge deal, but a nice change. Second, its optics have been improved to allow for about another 350 meters of throw, tossing the beam to almost a mile. It also has dual push buttons on the tail cap for mode and brightness adjustment. The TK30 had the main power button on the tail and the mode button on the neck of the light,, again, not a big deal but a nice lil upgrade. Both lights are pricey but honestly, worth it. Being able to clearly light something up from hundreds of meters away with pinpoint accuracy and little light spill to bounce back and blind you is great. Good light for hiking, hunting at night, even a great tactical light for a rifle as there is very little light spill to blind you and the light is focused on your target. Solid build and feels good in the hand.
